Coollab is an emerging open source tool for VJs and generative artists. It is designed to be very simple and intuitive, with a node-based approach that is quite different from the ones you might (or might not) be used to. Create some intricate geometric or organic patterns, animate them over time, and add audio reactivity or hardware control to build live visuals or export videos. In this workshop you will learn the basics of creating scenes and effects with Coollab, preparing them for a VJ show, and making them react to music and / or a MIDI controller.(Note: if you can bring a MIDI controller, please do. We will have one that we can share around, but the more we have the better)

Workshop requirements

  • Bring your laptop with Coollab installed
