Nat Whitney [The Overload Project], is an audio-visual participatory artist working with creative technologies to construct interactive, sensory objects and environments inviting curiosity and play. Intrigued by social interaction and the interplay between chance and control, their practice explores how physical computing can be harnessed to create accessible spaces for human-technology co-creation.
Driven by a belief in the power of play and collaboration, they apply creative technologies as active co-facilitators in shaping authentic participatory experiences. Their work invites embodied interaction and explores connections to ourselves, each other and our surroundings.
They are currently expanding electronic textile explorations, continuing from their project, Meeting Points, developed during the Watershed Winter residencies (Feb–Mar 2025) at Pervasive Media Studio, supported by MyWorld and Arts Council England.
Meeting Points Where might we meet each other in future? How might future interfaces of communication shift away from screens to more tactile, present or shared experiences?
Meeting points is an inquiry into how approaches to connection are evolving in the digital age. It explores how we might reimagine communication systems through art and technology, focusing on whole-body, multi-sensory experiences.
Participants are invited to hold, squeeze, chat with the beings and question: how might we communicate in future?
